Gymkats introduction

The Texas State Gymnastics Club provides gymnastics instruction to the youth of San Marcos through the GymKats program. The Gymkats program is designed to introduce gymnastics to beginners as well as offer competitive opportunities to intermediate level gymnasts. Gymkats is also the primary fundraiser for the Texas State Gymnastics Club. There are 5 areas of Gymkats.

At this time the university does not offer free parking to individuals participating in community activities. If you park on campus without a permit you may be ticketed. You may be able to purchase a parking pass for gymkats through the club or University Parking Services. If you decide to purchase a parking pass, Gymkats will waive the registration fee. If you decide to purchase a parking pass, please indicate on the registration paperwork so that the gymnastics club can gather your permit from parking services in a timely manner.

Parking passes for the entire year (Aug 2010 - Aug 2011) are $95

September 2nd is the first day of class

Registration will begin on August 30th in the gym from 5pm to 7pm. If you are not able to come in at that time, please email me and I will do my best to accommodate your schedule.

In order to register your child for Gymkats, all you need to do is drop by the gym any time on Monday or Thursday from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, fill out the registration forms, and pay the registration fee. Classes are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Register early to hold your spot.

These are full 12 week session costs. The Summer session costs are posted above.
Tuition is based on a 12 week session. The fees below are the total tuition owed for the entire 12 week session. The first half of the tuition is due during the first class of the 12 week session. The second payment is due on the 6th week of the session. You also have the opportunity to pay the entire tuition in the first payment.

1 class per week - $80
2 classes per week - $150
3 classes per week - $225
4 classes per week - $280

Registration Fee: $30

The Ariels and the Gymkats Boys Teams have other costs associated with those groups. Please talk to your coach to see what additional fees you may have if you are a member of one of these teams.

If you are not a student or faculty/staff and you decide to purchase a parking pass, the Texas State Gymnastics Club will waive your registration fee.

From Aquarena Springs, turn right onto Sessom. Pass Saltgrass, then take the first left (up the hill) on State St. The Aqua Sports Center is the first building on the right. You must either have a parking pass or check out a parking pass from Gymkats in order to park near the gym.

Twisters
Twisters are girls aged 5 and older who are either new to the sport or are still working on the Twister level skills. Twisters Skills List

Flippers
Flippers are girls intermediate level gymnasts aged 6 and older who have passed the Twister level skills and are working on the Flipper level skills and towards the competition group. Flippers Skills List

Ringers Ringers is the Gymkats boys recreational gymnastics program. These boys are at either a beginning or intermediate level. Boys learn basic gymnastics and compete in intra-club competitions as part of a team. Ringers Info

Aerials Girls Team
Aerials are girls who are members of the level 3 or higher competitive team that competes in S.A.G.A. meets. The Aeriels work out 4 hours a week on Mondays and Thursdays 4:30pm - 6:30pm. Participation in this group is either through coach's invitation or the completion of the Flippers skill chart.

Gymkats Boys Team
Members of the Gymkats Boys Team are boys aged 5 and older who have been chosen to compete as a travel team for levels 4 or higher. The Gymkats Boys Team work out 4 hours a week on Mondays and Thursdays 4:30pm - 6:30pm.

Parents Night Out

Periodically the Texas State Gymnastics Club may occassionally host a Parents Night Out for any interested parent who would like a night out on the town and would appreciate a cheap alternative to a babysitter. The cost is $10 per child for those children that are currently enrolled in classes or $15 per child for those who are not currently enrolled.

Parents Night Out activities include open play, organized games, fort building with the mats, contests for prizes, and snack time. Parents Night Out lasts from 6:00pm to 10:00pm. Parents must arrive no later than 10:15pm in order to avoid late pick up fees.
